Seja lá quais explicações existirem, o fato é que o Rei do Rock nunca morre. No fim deste mês a Sony Music vai lançar uma caixa comemorativa pelos 50 anos do especial de TV que marcou a volta de Elvis.
Elvis Presley‘s ’68 Comeback Special terá sete discos – 5 CDs e 2 blu-ray – e deve pôr fim aos relançamentos desse evento.
Acompanhado de Scotty Moore (guitarra) e D.J. Fontana (bateria) Elvis soltou a voz em clássicos como That’s All Right, Heartbreak Hotel e Lawdy, Miss Clawdy, só para citar os mais inspirados.
Batizado originalmente de Singer Presents…Elvis – Singer é mesmo aquela empresa que fabricava máquinas de costura – o especial de TV revitalizou a carreira de Presley e se transformou em um marco na história do rock.

O programa foi gravado em duas partes – com Elvis cantando sentado e em pé. Na verdade, foram feitas duas gravações para cada parte, todas incluídas na caixa. Todo o material em áudio e vídeo disponível estará reunido nesse novo lançamento, saciando o apetite de qualquer tipo de fã.
Além das gravações oficiais, ensaios e outtakes serão parte do show, assim como um livro de 84 páginas com entrevistas e depoimentos sobre o programa.
A data de lançamento está marcada para 30 de novembro.
