That was the main fraud experienced by consumers in the last 12 months
The scam is not new, but it was nearly four millions of people have been the victims of scams with credit cards cloned from march of last year and into this year, according to the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL) and the Service of Credit Protection (SPC in Brazil).
Most of these scams happened to you in your purchases on the internet, but that does not mean that this method is less secure than the physical stores. It is all a matter of care.

Before you make any purchase, make sure about the reputation of the business. Find out about the reputation of the company, and to use extra caution on e-commerce websites. With the sales channel and virtual, are required to provide information such as name, address, telephone number, and fiscal id (CNPJ);
Be wary of products with the price which will be lower than those applied by the market, and it will always require an invoice. That protect the consumer, in which case it has to do with a possible return of the product, or come up to ask for some compensation;
